Concept
The nature of each novel is reflected individually, whilst the darkening tone of the series as a whole is also conveyed. The beauty and delicate nature of the desert setting is also represented.
Solution
Simple portrayals of a desert horizon convey the barren setting and slow pacing of the novels. The colours grow darker through the trilogy to reflect the increasingly menacing tone of the story.
